Mission Viejo, CA -- After earning their first win of the season in a split during day one of the 2015 Saddleback College Tournament, the Citrus College Women's Water Polo program flexed some muscle on the second and final day of action. The Owls cruised in both contests, winning by double digits in both against Southwestern College and Rio Hondo College.

In the day's opening tilt against the Jaguars of Southwestern, Citrus opened with 18-0 run to start the game, blanking Southwestern through the first three quarters. The only goal given up by the Owls in the entire game would be a single score in the fourth, as they went on to win 20-1. Freshman Jessica Carmody would pace the Citrus effort with five goals. Sophomore Danielle DeHerrera added three and a team high three steals, while freshmen Gabriella Galbraith and Sabrina Fregoso each had three assists.

The Owls didn't slow down in the second and final contest of the day. Citrus outscored the Roadrunners nearly every step of the way as they racked up 19 goals and gave up just six, all of which came in the final two quarters of action, in a 19-6 victory. Sophomore Brittni Di Carlo left her mark all over the game with a team high five goals, and a team high four assists. DeHerrera added three and a team high four steals.

With the two wins, Citrus improves to 3-1 on the season. The Owls will be at home this Wednesday when they kick-off Western State Conference play against defending conference champ Santa Barbara City College. The game is set for a 3:30 PM start time.
