Glendora, CA - The Citrus College Women's Water Polo team played their first home WSC game on Wednesday afternoon and came away with a big win over LA Pierce. The Owls led 11-2 at the break and never really looked back in a 17-4 victory.

The Owls wasted very little time in getting down to business scoring three goals in the first three minutes. Citrus would lead 5-0 at the break and lead 10-0 with 5 minutes to go in the first half before Pierce even got on the board, finding the back of the net with 3:31 to to go in the second quarter. Leading 11-2 at halftime, the Owls took their foot off the gas in the third with just one goal, but the Owls finished the game off in the fourth, outscoring the visiting Brahmas 5-1 for the 13 point win.

In the win, Citrus was led by a game high four goals by freshman Alyssa Gonzalez. Six other Owls scored at least two goals, including freshman Chloe Barrocas who also handed out a game high four assists. Freshman Hunter Olivier recorded a game high seven steals, and freshman Angela Smith drew a team high three exclusions.

With the win, Citrus improves to 10-4 overall and 1-1 in WSC play. The Owls will be back at home on Thursday when they host two of the State's best in Riverside City College and San Joaquin Delta College. The Owls open the day against RCC at 9:00 AM.
