Glendora, CA - The Citrus College Women's Water Polo team opened up their annual home hosted tournament on Friday. The Owls rolled on the first day, outscoring their opponents 25-4 on the day.

In the opener, Citrus took on El Camino College. The Owls jumped all over the Warriors from the jump scoring eight goals in the first quarter, three of which were scored by freshman Chloe Barrocas. Citrus called off the dogs in the final three quarters, but did manage to keep El Camino completely off the scoreboard on their way to scoring three more goals for an 11-0 victory. Barrocas would finish with a game high three scores, adding four steals. Fellow frosh Hunter Olivier chipped in with a pair of scores, and swiped a game high five steals.

After starting out the day at 7:50 AM, the Owls had to wait until 6:20 PM to take on their second opponent of the day East Los Angeles College. Despite the long lay-off, Citrus picked up right where it left off, outscoring the Huskies 6-0 in the first. The Owls added five more in the second, while giving up their first two goals of the day.

Citrus once again intentionally took their foot off the gas in the final half of the game, scoring just three more goals, while allowing the Huskies to score once in the third and once in the fourth, before the game ended 14-4. Freshman Alyssa Gonzalez had a field day in the victory, scoring a game high four goals on seven attempts, adding three steals.

With the wins, Citrus improves to 14-8 on the year. The Owls will be back in action on Saturday when they host San Diego Mesa College and Pasadena City College to close out the year.
