Spalding Leads Owls to First Post-Season Berth in 16 Years

Citrus College Head Women's Water Polo Coach Jennifer Spalding has led the Owls to their first ever appearance in the Southern California Regional Playoffs.

Glendora, CA - For the first time in 16 years the Citrus College Women's Water Polo Program is headed to the CCCAA Southern California Regionals. In her first season at the helm, Head Coach Jennifer Spalding has led the Owls to a program record and the SoCal Regionals where they earned the #8 seed.

The Owls will take on Mt. San Antonio College, who was named the #9 seed, this coming Thursday. It will be the second meeting this year between the two programs who squared off back on Saturday October 22nd at Cypress College on the second day of the 2016 truWest Battle at the Beach. The Owls got the better of the Mounties that day, winning a defensive slugfest 6-4.

Thursday rematch is set for a 9:00 AM start at Golden West College. The winner will advance to the quarterfinals on Friday to take on #1 overall seed Santa Barbara City College.
