The Citrus Women's Water Polo team faced off against San Diego Mesa in the first round of the SoCal Regional Championships at LA Valley College on Thursday. Citrus would prevail 9-7 and will move on to the second round of competition tomorrow at 5:45 PM vs #3 seeded Riverside.
The Owls saw strong performances from several players including Hunter Olivier who pushed through 4 goals and added 2 assists, and Delaney Geppart who notched 2 goals and 2 assists on the day. Goalie Samantha Wilson, who faced 20 shots, racked up 11 saves and threw in an assist for good measure.
Citrus looks for revenge against Riverside, who beat them back in late Septmeber in a 9-4 contest.
