Sophomore Day Goes Swimmingly For Women's Polo

Women's Water Polo picked up a key conference win on Wednesday as they hosted visiting Pierce College for a WSC conference matchup. The Owls easily handled the visitors by a final score of 16-2. 

The game was preceded by a small ceremony honoring the hard work and dedication of the Sophomores from both teams. Citrus will graduate a dozen sophomores, all of which have played both of their years at Citrus. 

The Owls saw strong performances from several players. Emma Tuck led the way on offense as she found the back of the cage 4 times, adding 3 assists and a steal to her stat line. Savannah Austria netted 3 goals on the day, followed by Deliliah Lozano and Francesca Vargas who each contributed 2 goals. Goalies Noel Paz and Samantha Wilson each got 2 quarters of play in the net, combining for 8 saves on 10 shots faced. 

The Owls move up to 3-2 in conference with an overall record of 5-9. Citrus takes to the water again in a two day tournament hosted at the Citrus Aquatics Center this Friday and Saturday. The Owls play at 9:00 AM and 2:50 PM on Friday; and 12:40 PM and 3:00 PM on Saturday.
