Fresno, CA -- The Citrus College Women's Cross Country program wrapped up it's 2015 season on Saturday morning at the 2015 California Community College Athletic Association Cross Country State Championships at Woodward Park in Fresno, CA. The Owls finished 11th overall which is the second best ever program finish in the modern state championship era.

Sophomore Janet Meza-Avila was the leader of the pack for the Owls coming in 34th place individually with a time of 19:30.5. Her time is the third fastest in program history at the State Championships which moved to Woodward Park on a permanent basis in 1981. Sophomore Lezly Morales was 20 seconds back, finishing in 53rd place with a time of 19:50.4, which would be the sixth fastest time in program history.

Sophomore Antonella Curinga was the third Owl through the chute in 85th place with a time of 20:20.8, while sophomore Jacqueline Alcala (97th | 20:34.0) and sophomore Nataly Meza-Avila (125th | 21:00.0) rounded out the scoring runs. On the day, the Owls accumulated 346 points, just two points out of a Top 10 finish, trailing Saddleback who scored 344 points. Outside of first place Glendale and 3rd Place Canyons, the Owls were the top scoring team out of the increasingly tough Western State Conference.

Other individual finishers on the day included sophomore Jackeline Perez and Andrea Flores. Perez ended her career with a 148th place finish and time of 21:27.6, while Flores was 150th with a time of 21:30.2. Sophomore Daniel Hernandez-Cabrera was the lone male representative for the Owls, finishing in 89th place with a time of 22:04.3.
