Owls Compete at WSC Finals

Citrus College saw one runner qualify for the SoCal Championship at the Western State Conference Championship on Friday.
Ryleigh Larue led the Owls with a 12th-place finish in the women's 5K race, clocking in at 20 minutes, 5.2 seconds. Emily Aparicio followed with a time of 24:29.4, while Sara Fisher (28:53.1) and Ashley Campuzano (29:14.5) were the next two Owl runners. Nancy Cubillo (32:14.4) and Maragaret Watchler (37.17.0) rounded out the women for Citrus.
On the men's side, the Owls took 10th as a team with Saul Mora leading the charge with a time of 23:55.4 in the four-mile race. Jason Bailey followed with a time of 24:07.3, while Edward Prestegui Melchor finished the course in 24:43.2. Christopher Duran ran a time of 27:32.1 and Nick Jung was right on his tail, finishing .4 seconds after his teammate. Gio De La Cruz rounded out the men's runners with a time of 30:14.2.
Larue is set to compete at the SoCal Championship in two weeks on Nov. 4 in Bakersfield. The rest of the Owls will learn their fate later.
