Citrus Competes at Chaffey Invite
Ryleigh Larue grabbed a top-five finish at the Chaffey College Invite on Saturday to lead Citrus College in its final meet before postseason.
Larue crossed the finish line in 20 minutes, 14.6 seconds to take fourth overall. Blanca Madrid followed with a time of 24:45.0 to take 22nd overall. Lucy Zarita Osorio clocked in at 26:59.7 and Talia Saldana rounded out the Owls with a time of 32:56.0.
On the men's side, Citrus took fifth as a team with Geo Cabello leading the squad with a time of 24:19.4 to place 21st. Aaron Zamarron followed in 26:14.4 with Christopher Duran not far behind at 26:53.2. Bailey Helgren crossed the finish line in 29:20.1, Louis Amador (31:18.1) and Jared Almendras (31:34.9) clocked in one right after the other with Amador just edging out his teammate.
Citrus has almost two weeks to prepare for the Western State Conference Championship Meet, which will be held at LA Pierce College on Friday, Oct. 20.
