The Basketball Blog: Stay Focused and Execute
Throughout the Citrus College Men's Basketball team's journey in the 2012-2013 post-season, sophomore Kerry Carter will be blogging for the Citrus Athletics Website, giving the Owl faithful an inside look to the team. Today's installment is the second of this year's The Basketball Blog.
Tomorrow we go on the road to play a tough Cuesta team. I remember the look of disappointment on each of their players' faces as we ended their season early on in the playoffs last year at our home. More importantly, I remember the satisfaction it gave me knowing that we had survived. I hunger for that feeling again.
At this point, every game is the most important game of the season. I'm sure they feel they owe us one. It will be crucial to win every match up. Each of our players will have to win every battle with each of their players. Our bench has to be locked in. We are going to be the only ones in that gym interested in seeing another Citrus victory. We need every 50/50 play. It's going to be a 40 minute dog fight.
We've prepared like soldiers going into battle on enemy territory. The only thing left to do is stay focused and execute. Throughout the season Citrus has shown glimpses of how good we can actually be when we put it all together. If we can do just that, we will win. But the time is now.
