Softball Adds Two More to Matriculation List

Glendora, CA -- The Citrus Softball team is proud to announce that two more sophomores from the 2013 squad will be matriculating this fall. Angela Aguinaga and Rebecca Ireland will be attending and playing for the University of Hawaii at Hilo and the University of La Verne respectively, bringing Citrus Softball's matriculation total in 2013 to seven.

Softball Announces Five Athletes to Matriculate

Glendora, CA -- The Citrus College Softball program is pleased to announce that five of its sophomores from the 2013 season have accepted offers to continue their educational and athletic careers next year. The Owls will boast athletes at all four major levels of four-year play, with one matriculating to the NCAA DI level, another to an NCAA DII institution, one to an NCAA DIII school, and two more to an NAIA university.

Glendora, CA -- For the second straight year, the Citrus College Softball program boasts an All-American. Freshman Kawehi Ephan was named a National Fastpitch Coaches Association Louisville Slugger California Community College All-American late last week.

Freshman Raeleen Tellez capped off a fantastic freshman campaign by going 3 for 3 with an RBI in Citrus' loss to Santiago Canyon.
Softball's Season Ends In Super Regionals

Riverside, CA -- Arguably the most successful softball season in Citrus College Athletics history ended in dramatic fashion on Saturday evening in Riverside. The Owls lost a tough 4-3 game to Santiago Canyon in eight innings, getting eliminated from their Super Regional.

Riverside, CA -- The Citrus College Softball team will just have to do things the hard way this weekend after a 4-2 loss to #1 Riverside City College on Friday night. The Owls had opportunities on Friday, but just couldn’t cash them in, as they dropped to the elimination portion of the bracket in their Super Regional.

Series Preview: CCCAA Super Regional Round Two

The Citrus College Softball team was given the #14 seed in the 2013 California Community College Softball Southern California playoffs, and after knocking off #3 seed Cypress College in the opening round last weekend, advance to the Super Regionals for the first time in program history. The Owls will be participating in a four team double elimination tournament Friday – Sunday with the winning team earning the right to advance to the 2013 CCCAA State Softball Championships. Citrus opens up the weekend on Friday at 5:30 PM against #1 seed Riverside City College. For the complete bracket, click here.

Getting That Monkey Off the Back

Cypress, CA -- After blitzing three time defending State Cypress College for another 14 hits and nine runs on Sunday afternoon, the Citrus College Softball program finally shook that proverbial monkey off their backs. The Owls knocked the Chargers out of the post-season with a 9-0 six inning win, and advanced to the "Super Regionals" for the first time in program history.

Softball Puts Defending State Champs Against the Wall

Cypress, CA -- The Citrus College Softball team put the three time defending State Champs Cypress College up against the wall on Saturday afternoon with a 10-7 win. The Owls now need to win just one game tomorrow afternoon, to advance to the Super Regionals for the first time in program history, after they beat the Chargers in dramatic fashion on Saturday.

The Owls will be on the road this weekend as they take on #3 Cypress College in Cypress, CA in a best two out of three games series. Game one is schedule for Saturday May 3, 2013 at 2:00 PM. Game two is Sunday at 12:00 PM, with three taking place shortly after game two if necessary.

Glendora, CA -- The Citrus College Softball program got its fifth ever Conference Player of the Year over weekend when freshman phenom Kawehi Ephan was named the Western State Conference South Division Player of the Year. In addition, Ephan picked up California Community College Athletic Association All-State honors, while seven other Owls were named to the All-WSC South team.
