Throughout the Citrus College Men's Basketball team's journey in the 2012-2013 post-season, sophomore Kerry Carter will be blogging for the Citrus Athletics Website, giving the Owl faithful an inside look to the team. Today's installment is the fourth of this year's The Basketball Blog.

We could argue that we are in the best position that we could ask for. I say that because we play the top seed at their place tomorrow night. I've been in their position before. Last season I was with my team riding a comfortable wave into playoffs, looking down on lower teams scrapping for their chance to get their chance at us. And now, I'm leading one of those teams, more determined than ever. Unlike them, we aren't satisfied. Our discontent was the catalyst for change.

There's nothing like being the underdogs: having our backs against the wall and fighting for survival against all odds. Saddleback is a good team, but they have weaknesses that can be exploited. We haven't been shooting well as a team, so if this is in fact going to be one of those "David and Goliath" battles, our defense will have to be the rock that knocks off the giant.

Every competitor lives for these moments. As much as we tell ourselves it's just another game, it's more than that. It's the playoffs. This is an opportunity to create a legacy and leave behind something greater than the sum of its parts. Every drill, every sprint, every huddle, every high and every low was for games like this. It's going to be a night to remember!

In good faith,
