Owls Season Ends at Championships

Bakersfield, CA -- The Citrus College Women’s Golf team’s 2012 season came to a close on Sunday and Monday at the 2012 Western State Conference Championships. The women finished fifth out of the fifth competing teams, and freshman Kandace Delgado finished one stroke out of qualifying for the Southern California Championships.

Moorpark, CA -- The Citrus College Women’s Golf team finished in fifth place against on Monday afternoon as they took part in the Western State Conference Neutral Site Event at Tierra Rejada Golf Course. The Owls put up their second lowest team total of the year, and finished just eight strokes out of fourth place with a 411.

Glendale, CA (Women’s Golf) -- The Citrus College Women’s Golf team finished fifth again on Monday afternoon at the WSC Event hosted by Glendale College. Sophomore Hannah Thurston, who has seen steady improvement over the course of the season, came in with a season low to highlight things for the Owls.

Simi Valley, CA (Women’s Golf) -- The Citrus College Women’s Golf team got a strong performance from sophomore Berenice Yang Gonzalez. Yang Gonzalez posted a career low round, improving her previous best effort by 15 strokes.

Owls Continue Fight at WSC Bakersfield

Bakersfield, CA (Women’s Golf) -- The Citrus College Women’s Golf team continued their fight to keep improving yesterday afternoon at the Western State Conference event hosted by Bakersfield College at Stockdale Country Club. The Owls showed some signs, but still finished fifth out of the five competing teams.

San Dimas, CA (Women’s Golf) -- The Citrus College Women’s Golf team hosted the rest of their Western State Conference opponents at San Dimas Canyon Golf Course yesterday. The Owls’ familiarity with their home course paid off as two Owls came in under 90, and freshman Kandace Delgado finished sixth overall the first Top 10 individual finish for the Owls this season.

Santa Barbara, CA (Women’s Golf) -- Freshman Kandace Delgado was the top golfer for the Owls yesterday morning at the WSC Santa Barbara match held at Santa Barbara Golf Club. Two weeks after scoring in triple digits, Delgado improved by 14 strokes and was the only Owl in double digits.

San Buenaventura, CA (Women’s Golf) -- The Citrus College Women's Golf team got their 2012 season underway on Monday morning as they took part in day two of the South Coast Classic at Olivas Links Golf Course in San Buenaventura, CA. The Owls finished fifth out of the five competing Western State Conference teams.
