Lopez and Galvez Represent Owls Well at State Championships

Fresno, CA -- The Citrus College Men’s and Women’s Cross Country teams were well represented at the 2013 California Community College Athletic Association State Championships on Saturday afternoon in Fresno. Freshman Diego Lopez and sophomore Julia Galvez both made the Owls proud at Woodward Park.

Lopez and Galvez Advance to CCCAA State Championships

Santa Clarita, CA -- Citrus College freshman Diego Lopez and sophomore Julia Galvez both advanced to the CCCAA State Championships thanks to their performance at yesterday CCCAA Southern California Championships. Lopez is the first male representative for the Owls in Fresno since 2011, and Galvez is the Owls’ first female representative since 2009.

Three Advance To SoCals

Oxnard, CA -- The Citrus College Cross Country program will have three individuals representing the Owls in a couple of weeks at the Southern California Championships. Freshmen Diego Lopez and Alexandria Contreras along with sophomore Julia Galvez have all earned a spot in the SoCal Finals after their performances yesterday at the 2013 Western State Conference Championships.

Men 10th, Women 12th at WSC Preview

Ventura, CA -- The Citrus College Men’s and Women’s Cross Country team’s got an idea of the stiff competition they’ll face later this month at the 2013 Western State Conference Championships. The men finished 10th out of 12 competing teams, while the women took 12th out of 14.

Owls Continue to Show Promise at Foothill Invite

Ontario, CA -- The Citrus College Cross Country team took back to the racing course this past weekend as they participated in the Foothill Invitational. The Owls continued to show promise as both the men’s and women’s teams finished in sixth place, and both had an individual finish in the Top 6.

Santa Clarita, CA -- The Citrus College Cross Country program faced their toughest early season challenge on Friday afternoon when they participated in the Southern California Preview meet hosted by College of the Canyons. The Owls took on the top teams from SoCal as well as the best team from NorCal and had some promising results.

Contreras Highlights Strong Owl Effort at Palomar

Oceanside, CA -- Freshman Alexandra Contreras highlighted a strong Citrus College Cross Country effort on Friday afternoon, in the Owls’ season opener at the Palomar Invitational. The talented freshman finished fifth overall in the women’s race and helped Citrus to a 6th place team finish.

A Solid Foundation

Glendora, CA -- Under the guidance of new Head Coach Alicia Longyear, the Citrus College Cross Country program is entering new territory. The Owls are looking to push themselves into the upper half of a tough Western State Conference, and are doing so by trying to lay down a solid foundation that will hold up a program for many seasons in the future.

Longyear to Helm Owls Cross Country

Glendora, CA -- The Citrus College Athletic department announced Wednesday morning, that Alicia Longyear will take over the helm of the Citrus College Cross Country program. Longyear takes over the reins of the program from Nicki Shaw, who led the Owls’ cross country program the previous three season and steps down to accept an academic position on the Citrus College campus.
