Men’s Water Polo Gets Six on All-Conference Team

Glendora, CA -- With the 2012 season in the rearview mirror, the Western State Conference All-Conference team was recently announced. The Owls had six players listed in the post-season awards, one on the first team, two on the second team, and three on the honorable mention list.

Owls Lose Final Regular Season Conference Contest

San Luis Obispo, CA -- The Citrus College Men’s Water Polo team closed out their 2012 regular season Western State Conference schedule on Wednesday afternoon at Cuesta College. Unfortunately, the Owls suffered a loss as they fell to the Cougars 19-4.

San Luis Obispo, CA (Men’s and Women’s Water Polo) -- The Citrus College Men’s and Women’s Water Polo teams will wrap up their 2012 WSC regular season schedule tomorrow afternoon at Cuesta College, and both games will be broadcast online by the Cuesta TV Project.

Up and Down for Owls at Cuesta

San Luis Obispo, CA (Men’s Water Polo) -- The Citrus College Men’s Water Polo team was up and down this weekend at the Cuesta College Tournament. Citrus won one, and lost one on day one, and then won one, and lost one on day two of the tournament as they came home 2-2.

Owls Collapse in Second Half Against Valley

Glendora, CA (Men’s Water Polo) -- The Citrus College Men’s Water Polo team kept things close for the first 16 minutes of Wednesday afternoon’s Western State Conference contest with LA Valley College. The Owls trailed by just four goals after the first half of play, but were outscored 13-2 in the second half in a 21-6 conference set back.

Sophomore Ryan Batchelor two steals in the loss to Ventura, and then had four goals and three kick outs against Occidental.
Water Polo Drops Two on Road

Ventura, CA and Eagle Rock, CA (Men's Water Polo) -- The Citrus College Men's Water Polo team hit the road for a pair of contests on Wednesday afternoon and evening and came home with a pair of losses. The Owls took on Ventura College in a Western State Conference game in the afternoon before hitting up Occidental College on their way back home to Glendora.

Owls Lose at Home and On Road

Glendora, CA & Pasadena, CA (Men’s Water Polo) -- The Citrus College Men’s Water Polo team played a pair of contests on Wednesday. The Owls opened up the day at home against Santa Monica College in their Western State Conference opener, and then hit the 210 Freeway to take on California Institute of Technology in the evening. Unfortunately for the Owls, Citrus came up short in both contests.

Water Polo Goes 3-1 at Mesa Tourney

San Diego, CA (Men’s Water Polo) -- The Citrus College Men’s Water Polo team had their best weekend of the 2012 season so far. The Owls went 3-1 at the San Diego Mesa College Tournament, dropping their first contest of the weekend and then rattling off three straight.

Another .500 Day for Water Polo

Walnut, CA (Men’s Water Polo) -- The Citrus College Men’s Water Polo team wrapped up their weekend at the Mt. SAC Tournament on Saturday afternoon with another .500 day. The Owls started the day off with a 15-7 loss to Fullerton, before coming back with a 14-9 win against Chaffey.

Sophomore Raul Castaneda drew a career high six kickouts against Mt. SAC and scored three goals against Saddleback on Friday.
Mixed Results for Owls On Day One

Walnut, CA (Men’s Water Polo) -- The Citrus College Men’s Water Polo got mixed results on Friday during day one of the Mt. San Antonio College Tournament. The Owls dropped their first game to the tournament’s host, before rallying with a big win in game two.

Owls Lose Final Two Games on Sunday

Glendora, CA (Men’s Water Polo)-- After splitting the first day of their home hosted tournament on Saturday the Owls closed up the weekend on Sunday with a pair of losses. Citrus kept it close in the opening contest, but got behind early in game number two and was never able to climb out of the hole.

Men's Water Polo Loses Season Openers

Whittier, CA (Men's Water Polo) -- The Citrus College Men's Water Polo team opened up their 2012 schedule on Saturday afternoon and did so against tough competition. The Owls took on a pair of four-year universities losing to the NCAA DII Fresno Pacific University 22-7 and 20-8 to NCAA DIII Whittier College 20-8.

Making the Leap

Glendora, CA (Men’s Water Polo) -- After finishing 15-13 in 2011 and just outside the Southern California playoff picture, there may be no team on campus quite ready to make the leap to the post-season as the Citrus College Men’s Water Polo program. The Owls have the tools in place, returning two of their top three players from last season and bringing in a strong recruiting class. All that’s left will be for Citrus to make it happen in the pool.

Glendora, CA (Men's Water Polo) -- Sophomore Jordan Ziegler is set to continue his water polo career at the next level. Ziegler will attend California Baptist University in Riverside next year, and has accepted an opportunity to walk on with the Men's Water Polo team.
