Rodriguez Signs With Talladega

Glendora, CA -- Citrus College Sophomore Ella Rodriguez completed the 2012-2013 matriculating sophomore class early last week when she signed a scholarship offer with Talladega College in Alabama. Rodriguez was the fourth and final sophomore from Citrus’ 12-13 squad to accept a scholarship offer.

Glendora, CA -- Citrus College Sophomore Arianna Caffey became the third Owl to sign a scholarship offer this past week, when she signed on with NCAA DII Henderson State University in Arkansas.

Glendora, CA -- Citrus College sophomore Sarah Rebibo became the second Owl from the 2012-2013 Citrus College Women’s Basketball team to sign a scholarship offer this past week. Rebibo has accepted a scholarship off from NCAA DII Chico State.

Glendora, CA -- Citrus College sophomore Nicole Zugasti has accepted a scholarship offer from one of the most successful NAIA programs in the country in Vanguard University. Zugasti will suit up for the Lions beginning in the 2013-2014 season.

Glendora, CA -- The Citrus College Women’s Basketball team turned the ball over 21 times, and allowed visiting Santa Monica College to score 11 critical points off those 21 turnovers. That would prove to be the difference in a closely contested game on Saturday night, as Citrus fell in their regular season finale 46-45.

Down to the Wire

Culver City, CA -- The Citrus College Women’s Basketball team is keeping their post-season hopes alive and are going to take their season down to the wire. The Owls got another much needed victory on Wednesday night when they overcame a three point halftime deficit to secure a 53-50 win at West Los Angeles College.

Glendora, CA -- Citrus College sophomore Nicole Zugasti was named the Western State Conference South Division Player of the Week late Tuesday night. Zugasti picked up the nod for her play last week against Bakersfield College.

Keeping That Hope Alive

Glendora, CA -- The Citrus College Women’s Basketball team kept a slight glimmer of hope alive on Saturday evening with a much needed win. The Owls played host to Bakersfield College and downed the visiting Renegades 66-52.

Can’t Catch Up

Valley Glen, CA -- The Citrus College Women’s Basketball team suffered its second straight loss on Saturday night. The Owls got off to a slow start, scoring just 11 points in the first half, and couldn’t catch up despite outscoring their opponents in the second half. When the buzzer sounded, Citrus fell to host LA Valley College 55-40.

Glendora, CA – Citrus College sophomore Sarah Rebibo was named the Western State Conference South Division Player of the Week early Wednesday morning. It’s the first nod for Rebibo this year, and the third for an Owl this season.

Fast Breaked to Death

Glendora, CA -- The Citrus College Women’s Basketball team gave it a great effort on Wednesday night, but in the end it wasn’t enough as they were fast breaked to death. The Owls were outgunned in fast break points 16-6, which proved to be the difference in a 59-67 loss to College of the Canyons.

Owls Take Rubber Match Against Glendale

Glendale, CA -- The Citrus College Women’s Basketball team claimed the rubber match between themselves and Glendale College on Saturday night. After defeating the Vaqueros in tournament play back in December, the Owls lost at home at the start of conference play to Glendale, only to take the third meeting on Saturday night 50-44 at Glendale College.

Oh Miss Wilson Santa Monica, CA -- Citrus College freshman Jaelyn Wilson had her best game of the Western State Conference South Division on Wednesday night, and the result was the Owls’ second straight win. Wilson went for 18 and 11, with seven of her eleven boards coming on the offensive glass as Citrus won 57-49.

Second Chances

Glendora, CA -- The Citrus College Women’s Basketball team took advantage of their second chances on Saturday night. The Owls out-rebounded the visiting West Los Angeles College Women’s Basketball team 16-7 on the offensive side of the glass, and outscored the Wildcats 17-5 in second chance opportunities. It turned out to be the key to the game as the Owls’ earned their first conference win 60-58.

Bakersfield, CA -- After a promising first half, the Citrus College Women's Basketball team went ice cold in the second half of their conference contest on Wednesday night. The Owls were held to a season low 10 points in the second half, falling 48-30 to the host Renegades.

Out Of Gas

Glendora, CA -- The Citrus College Women’s Basketball team gave it a go on Wednesday night when they hosted State #18 Los Angeles Valley College. The Owls hung with the Monarchs for 25 minutes of the contest before the shorthanded Citrus squad just plain ran out of gas. Valley pulled away big late, downing Citrus 56-39.
