Citrus Aquatics Hosting Japanese National Women’s Water Polo Team

Glendora, CA -- The Citrus College Aquatics program will be hosting the Japanese National Women’s Water Polo team this week on the campus of Citrus College in the Citrus College Aquatics Center. The Japanese Women’s National Team will be using Citrus to train for a total of six days from May 27th – June 1st. On five of the days, the Japanese Women’s National Team will go head to head with the United States Women’s Youth National Team in the water.

Citrus Successfully Hosts U.S. Women’s Water Polo National Team

Glendora, CA -- The Citrus College Aquatics department successfully hosted the Unites States Women’s Water Polo National team this past week. The U.S. National Team was in town to play a friendly with California State University, Northridge.

Owls Get Five on All-Conference

Glendora, CA -- The Citrus College Women’s Water Polo team had five athletes listed on the 2013 All-Western State Conference list. The Owls had two 1st teamers, two 2nd teamers, and an Honorable Mention selection.

Women’s Water Polo Closes Out Year With Strong Performance at WSC Championships

Santa Monica, CA -- The Citrus College Women’s Water Polo closed out their 2013 season this past weekend at the 2013 Western State Conference Championships at Santa Monica College. The Owls opened up the weekend with an upset of Cuesta College before falling a close semi-final and consolation round games to Los Angeles Pierce College and Ventura College respectively.

Water Polo Drops Regular Season Finale

Woodland Hills, CA -- The Citrus College Women's Water Polo team dropped their regular season finale on Wednesday afternoon. The Owls fell to first place Los Angeles Pierce College 12-5.

Cypress & Long Beach, CA -- The Citrus College Women’s Water Polo team took part in the 2013 truWest Battle at Beach hosted by Long Beach City College this past weekend. Every game was a battle for the Owls as they came home with an impressive 2-2 record, and every game a close one.

Slow Start Dooms Owls

Valley Glen, CA -- The Citrus College Women’s Water Polo team got off to a slow start on Wednesday evening against LA Valley College, a start that ultimately doomed them. The Owls fell into a 6-0 hole at the half and never recovered on their way to a 14-4 loss.

Sophomore Candelaria Baca had two goals, three assists, and seven steals on Saturday.
Owls Finish Second at Home Hosted Tournament

October 21, 2013

Glendora, CA -- After advancing to the championship pool thanks to a pair of wins in day one, the Citrus College Women’s Water Polo team finished the weekend with a second place finish. The Owls started the day off with a dominating 7-1 win over San Diego Mesa, before falling in a near epic comeback to LA Valley 7-5.

Freshman goalie Rose Takeuchi had 24 total saves in two wins for the Owls on Friday.
Twice as Nice

Glendora, CA -- The Citrus College Women’s Water Polo program kicked off the first day of its home hosted large tournament on Friday afternoon and had some strong results. Things were twice as nice for the Owls as they posted a pair of victories, 8-3 over El Camino College and 8-7 over San Diego Miramar College.

Owls Drop Close One in OT

Glendora, CA -- The Citrus College Women’s Water Polo team hosted Ventura College late Wednesday afternoon. The Owls came close to upsetting Ventura College, but came up empty handed losing 4-3 in overtime.

Owls Win Defensive Struggle

October 10, 2013

Santa Monica, CA -- Scoring was at a premium on Wednesday afternoon at Santa Monica College in a WSC tilt between the Owls and Corsairs. Citrus came up on the positive end, winning the defensive struggle 4-2.

Owls Close Up Tough Tourney With Win

San Diego, CA -- After starting out the 2013 San Diego Women’s Water Polo Classic with three straight tough losses, the Owls rallied in their final contest of the weekend to post an 8-7 win over the tournament’s host. Saturday started off with a close, close 12-9 loss to Southwester, but finished on a positive note with an 8-7 victory over San Diego Mesa College.

Owls Drop A Pair

San Diego, CA -- The Citrus College Women’s Water Polo team had a rough start to the San Diego Women’s Water Polo Classic hosted by San Diego Mesa College on Friday. The Owls opened up the day with a close 7-10 loss to San Joaquin Delta College and finished it with a tough 2-13 loss to Grossmont College.

Owls Just Miss Upset Bid

Glendora, CA -- The Citrus College Women's Water Polo team opened up their 2013 Western State Conference slate on Wednesday afternoon by hosting Cuesta College. The Owls led deep into the fourth against the Cougars, but gave up three late goals just missing on an upset bid in an 11-9 loss.

Freshman goalie Rose Takeuchi had 22 saves in just 48 minutes of play on day two of the Mt. San Antonio College Tournament.
Second Halves Sink Owls

September 29, 2013

Walnut, CA -- The Citrus College Women's Water Polo team faced a pair of tough foes on Saturday in the second day of the 2013 Mt. San Antonio College Tournament. The Owls hung tough, but their second halves ended up sinking them as they were out scored 7-2 in the final 16 minutes of play on the day in a pair of losses to Palomar and LA Valley College.

Walnut, CA -- After opening up the first day of the 2013 Mt. San Antonio College Tournament with a tough 13-5 loss to Orange Coast College, the Citrus College Women’s Water Polo team found away to respond. The Owls did so with a convincing 11-5 victory over Rio Hondo College later in the day.
