Lopez Finishes 3rd, So 4th at CCCAA State Championships

Morro Bay, CA -- Citrus College freshmen Jamie Lopez and Lexandra So posted the best ever finishes by a Citrus College women’s golfer at the 2014 California Community College Athletic Association State Championships Sunday and Monday. Lopez finished third overall, while So was right behind in fourth place.

Temecula, CA -- For the first time in Citrus College history, the Owls had a player win the California Community College Athletic Association Southern California Individual Championship. Freshman Lexandra So became the first player in the school’s history to earn the feat when she bested 34 other individuals to win claim the individual crown. Not far behind her was teammate and fellow frosh Jamie Lopez, who finished in fourth place overall.

Pasadena, CA — Citrus College Freshman Lexandra So made history on Sunday and Monday, becoming the first ever Citrus College Women’s Golfer to win the Western State Conference Championship Individual Title. Fellow frosh Jamie Garcia wasn’t far behind her, finishing in third place as both will move on to the Southern California Championships.

Pasadena, CA -- For the second straight week, the Citrus College Women's Golf team came in second place at a Western State Conference Event. The Owls posted a team score of 372 and finished six strokes ahead of third place Santa Barbara City College at the WSC Glendale Event at Brookside #2.
Owls Finish Second at WSC Bakersfield

Bakersfield, CA -- The Citrus College Women’s Golf team had their highest team finish of the year on Monday afternoon at the WSC Event hosted by Bakersfield College. The Owls shot a combined 364, and finished in second place, besting Santa Barbara City College, the school who had finished second in each of the previous four conference events, by 14 strokes.

San Dimas, CA -- The Citrus College Women’s Golf team played host to the rest of the Western State Conference on Wednesday afternoon at San Dimas Canyon Golf Course. The Owls’ top two players continued to lead the conference individually, while Citrus finished third again as a team.
Lopez Leads Owls in State Championship Preview

Morro Bay, CA -- The Citrus College Women’s Golf team got a preview of the 2014 California Community College Athletic Association State Championships this past weekend when they took part in the 2014 Morro Bay Invitational. The Owls played on the State Championship course, finishing 11th out 17 of the best teams in the State, while freshmen Jamie Lopez and Lexandra So both posted Top 20 Individual Finishes.

Granada Hills, CA -- Citrus College freshman Lexandra So and Jamie Lopez kept it going on Monday afternoon at Knowlwood Country Club for the 2014 Western State Conference event host by College of the Canyons. The ladies stayed atop the WSC Individual Standings finishing first and second respectively.

Santa Barbara, CA — Citrus College freshman Lexandra So continued to leave her mark on the Western State Conference Women’s Golf landscape on Monday afternoon at the WSC Event hosted by Santa Barbara City College. So won her second consecutive event, firing a three over par 75, to lead the Owls at Santa Barbara Golf Club.

Ventura, CA -- One week after teammate Lexandra So opened up the 2014 season by winning the 2014 Desert Classic Invitational, fellow frosh Jamie Lopez switched spots with So on the leaderboard and won the two-day 2014 South Coast Tournament.

Palm Springs, CA — Citrus College freshman Lexandra So started off her collegiate career in just about the most impressive fashion possible. So, won the 2014 Desert Classic Invitational which featured 11 teams and 59 total golfers with a two round total of 145.

The Citrus College Women’s Golf program kicks off their 2014 slate this weekend at the Desert Invitational. The Owls, who have seen steady improvement the past couple of seasons, will be looking to build on that in 2014, and despite the youth of the roster, make a push for some post-season spots.
